Instagram has rolled out a new feature that lets users pull posts from the “Tagged” tab straight onto their main profile grid. The addition is aimed at people who want to showcase photos and videos they’ve been tagged in without keeping them hidden in a separate section.
To use the tool, you simply open your profile, tap the “Tagged” tab, find the post you’d like to display, hit the three‑dot menu and select “Add to profile grid.” The post instantly appears alongside your own uploads, preserving the original caption, likes and comments. The feature is currently available on both iOS and Android versions of the app.
Industry analysts have called the move “a fresh layer of personalization” for Instagram profiles. Influencers, brands, and casual users alike can now curate a more cohesive visual story by mixing their own content with the work of collaborators, friends, or partners. For creators, this means a new way to highlight collaborations without sacrificing the aesthetic of their feed.
From a privacy standpoint, Instagram assures that existing visibility settings remain intact. If a tagged post was originally shared with “Friends only,” it will stay private even after being added to the grid, preventing accidental exposure.
Early feedback is largely positive. Many users appreciate the ability to bring fan‑made or event photos into the main feed, describing it as a “profile makeover” tool. Critics, however, warn that grids could become cluttered if users indiscriminately add every tagged post, potentially diluting the brand’s visual consistency.
Instagram hinted that future updates may include more granular controls—such as arranging the order of tagged posts or setting a default cover image—so users can fine‑tune how these additions appear. By giving people more flexibility in curating their profiles, the platform hopes to keep its visual‑first ethos fresh amid growing competition from rivals like TikTok and BeReal.
