Amodei emphasized that this approach is not a competitive shortcut but a long‑term investment in a sustainable AI industry. “Pacing the frontier” does not mean halting innovation; it means steering it toward greater transparency, control, and safety. By doing so, Anthropic aims to set a benchmark for how cutting‑edge AI can be advanced responsibly while still delivering transformative capabilities.
